VA. Governor supports infanticide. He also has a racist picture in his past. Democrats are OK with the former, but not the latter .. call on him to resign.

UPDATE:

CBS News uncovered a page from Northam's yearbook at the Virginia Military Institute which had nicknames listed underneath his name. One of them was "Coonman," a racial slur.

A reporter from CBS News affiliate News 3, Brendan Ponton, went to the Eastern Virginia Medical School library in Norfolk Friday afternoon and found the page on which the photo appears.

Several political figures have called on Northam to step down, including NAACP President Derrick Johnson and 2020 presidential candidates Cory Booker, Julián Castro, Kamala Harris and Kirsten Gillibrand.

Northam's predecessor, former Gov. Terry McAuliffe, tweeted "it's Ralph to step down, and for the Commonwealth to move forward."

Democratic New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, the vice chair of the Democratic Governors Association who is set to take over in 2020, called on Northam to resign Friday night on MSNBC.

"I don't see the governor's got any other choice other than to step aside," Murphy said.

(Big League Politics) – Public records reveal Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, who endorsed infanticide as a form of abortion on Wednesday, received almost $2 million in campaign contributions from Planned Parenthood.

Research reveals nearly $2 million in campaign contributions from the taxpayer funded pro-abortion group Planned Parenthood sent to Northam, who endorsed a bill that would allow new mothers to determine whether they wanted to keep a child after delivery, essentially legalizing infanticide.

Northam received $1.996 million from Planned Parenthood Virginia over the course of five years, with most of the donations coming in during his 2017 election campaign. These include massive cash injections of $338,852, $278,247, $255,641, and other similar amounts in the final days before the election.

2020 - Illegal Immigration - Trump and the Latino Vote

January 31, 2019

President Trump would not have to change his policies to capture 40 to 50 percent of the Latino vote (which is quite different from “Latino” spokespeople on television and the Jorge Ramos crowd)

Open borders falls most heavily on the Latino communities. Schools cannot easily offer advanced placement and competitive courses when huge influxes of non-citizens without English facility enroll in mass. Social services become swamped with thousands of arrivals from impoverished Central America and southern Mexico that impair the quality of attention for U.S. citizens.

Unspoken but also alarming is that the new waves of illegal aliens are largely from Central America, and do commensurately resonate Latino solidarity within Mexican-American communities who see sanctuary cities as green-lighting crime so often aimed at themselves.

Hispanic unemployment is at record low levels in a growing economy. Even slight decreases in border crossings are force multipliers in the empowerment of Mexican-American and other Hispanic citizens in efforts to boost wages and gain options in employment.

It is surreal how Republicans have allowed an open-borders, boutique-green, static- and regulated-economy, anti-Catholic, pro-radical-abortion party to pose as the friend of Hispanic-American voters.

Border Patrol union president speaks up in support of Trump’s border wall
.
Brandon Judd, right, president of the National Border Patrol Council, talks about border security after making a surprise visit to the press briefing room of the White House in Washington on Jan. 3, 2019. Judd and President Donald Trump share an ominous view of the southern border and a certainty that a wall along the boundary is urgently needed to stop what they’ve described as a humanitarian crisis. Judd, a 21-year veteran of the U.S. Border Patrol, has helped to validate Trump’s fiery immigration rhetoric and affirm the president’s conviction the border with Mexico is a frequently lawless place.

"It’s so obvious that our immigration policies are bankrupting the nation’s welfare programs"

Every negotiation needs an implacable advocate ... and whether it's organic or she's fully onboard with the president ... the effect is the same. Ann is playing her part perfectly.

Coulter: Who Benefits from Immigration? Not You!

Readers of my columns know that I have made the point that America's immigration policies benefit only three groups of people ..

1) rich Americans with a lot of employees

2) the immigrants themselves

3) their grandmothers back in Chiapas.

More Troops To The Border. The Wall Is Coming.

Acting SecDef Shanahan Says 'Several Thousand' More Troops Will Be Sent to the Southern Border

By Julio Rosas

************

For about one month, Trump slowly, step by step, squeezed out from the media narrative all the informational garbage not related to the problem of illegal immigration. As a result, Trump skillfully imposed his agenda on America.  As part of this agenda, there came a clear understanding that two ideologies clashed in Washington – one that aims to turn America into a country akin to Venezuela, and the other to build a wall on the southern border.

MORE:

The border wall can be built with a presidential declaration of a national emergency. Or the wall can be built by the U.S. Army (the law allows this to be done even without the consent of Congress).

Declaring a state of emergency in America is a fairly frequent thing.  President Obama declared national emergencies 12 times, and President G.W. Bush 13 times.  By law, a national emergency may be declared by the president for only one year, but, as a rule, all presidents extend their own emergency declarations and the emergency declarations of their predecessors.

Trump extended all the emergencies declared by Presidents Obama, Bush, and Clinton.  In addition, Trump extended the national emergency associated with Iran, which President Carter had previously declaredCurrently, there are 31 active national emergencies in the United States.  For reference, the U.S. Congress has the right to cancel a declaration of a national emergency, but only if both houses of Congress vote for it with a two-thirds majority.

“If we charge a country ZERO to sell their goods, and they charge us 25, 50 or even 100 percent to sell ours .. That is not Free or Fair Trade, it is Stupid Trade!”

"America has racked up non-stop trade deficits since 1976"

As a result, millions of U.S. manufacturing jobs have been lost to high-tariff countries.

World Trade Organization (WTO) data shows that every major country in the world charges higher tariffs on American-made goods than we do in return. China imposes tariffs three times higher than average U.S. tariffs. India’s tariffs are four times higher than ours.

Members of Congress are starting to grasp this.

A group led by Rep. Sean Duffy (R-Wis.) introduced legislation that would allow the president to increase tariffs on items from countries that persist in maintaining a tariff imbalance. The goal of their “U.S. Reciprocal Trade Act” would be to “pressure other nations to lower their tariffs and stop taking advantage of America.”

Essentially, the bill could provide the leverage needed to coerce other countries to finally lower their tariff barriers — and actually achieve the open trade that previous presidents have championed.

SOTU Address set for Feb.5 - Will Justice Ginsburg be in attendance?

'Ruth Bader Ginsburg watch nears the end of its second month'

January 29, 2019

It has been 54 days since the public laid eyes on the 85-year-old Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and her absence is prompting calls for proof of life.  The last time she was seen was on December 6, 2018, when she heard arguments in person at the Court. Since then, she underwent surgery on December 21 of last year after two cancerous growths from her left lung were discovered and removed.

The reason her absence is so monumental is that if her health has compromised her ability to do her job as a member of the highest court in the United States, her removal will give President Trump his third justice nomination of his first term.  This would be an apocalypse to the liberal Democrats, who would be faced with the most conservative Supreme Court in modern history for decades to come.

IT'S TIME: Senate GOP ready to go nuclear on Democrat obstructionism

Confirming Trump's judicial and executive branch picks

Senate Republicans are intent on making it easier to confirm President Donald Trump's nominees. And they're going to make a move with or without Senate Democrats. The GOP is planning to cut debate time on some lower-level nominees and accelerate confirmation of Trump's judicial and executive branch picks, said Senate Rules Chairman Roy Blunt (R-Mo.)

"I expect we will move a bill through the committee sometime before the end of March," Blunt said. "Whether that's two weeks from now or mid-March, I don't know. But I think this is something we will deal with one way or another."

Blunt's timeline is less aggressive than one laid out by Sen. Todd Young (R-Ind.), who last week suggested the rules change could be immediate. Republicans can invoke a unilateral rules change with a simple majority vote, also known as using the "nuclear option" if they can't get Democratic support.

Meanwhile .. Walmart to Hire Hundreds of Truck Drivers - $87.5K Average Salary

AMERICA IS WORKING AGAIN

Walmart, America’s largest private employer, plans to hire hundreds more truck drivers in 2019 while boosting the pay of its current drivers. Walmart added 1,400 truck drivers to its 2.3 million-strong workforce in 2018, joining the hiring boom that added over 2.6 million jobs to the economy that year.

Starting February, the company will also increase its drivers’ per-mile rates and other pay, hiking the average salary to $87,500, Walmart stated in a Jan. 23 release.

Less than 200,000 Americans applied for unemployment benefits in the week ending Jan. 19, the least since 1969, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics data. When adjusted for population, the jobless claims dropped to another historic minimum, below 61 per 100,000, breaking the record of a bit over 61 set just 18 weeks ago.

“If you’re looking for good news on the economy, look no further than the labor market,” said Jim Baird, chief investment officer at Plante Moran Financial Advisors in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
