Apollo 8 - Remembering that Christmas Eve 50 years ago.
- .
- The three Americans siting atop the Saturn V rocket (the first time a Saturn V would be carrying humans) on Saturday morning Dec. 21, 1968 were focused on becoming the first humans to reach the moon's orbit.
- .
- On Christmas Eve December 24 .. they did just that:
- .
- William Anders
We are now approaching lunar sunrise, and for all the people back on Earth, the crew of Apollo 8 has a message that we would like to send to you.In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
- James Lovell
And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
- Frank Borman
And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. And from the crew of Apollo 8, we close with good night, good luck, a Merry Christmas – and God bless all of you, all of you on the good Earth

The Apollo 8 mission, which paved the way for Apollo 11's historic lunar landing seven months later, was fraught with risk. The urgency created by the Soviet Union's efforts to reach the moon forced NASA to compress the time frame and take a number of calculated gambles. The mission took 16 weeks from conception to launch, compared to similar ones that took at least a year to execute.
“Now they’re going to put three men (on only the third Saturn V flight ever and one of its two previous test flights had failed) aboard this thing," said Robert Kurson, author of 'Rocket Men: The Daring Odyssey of Apollo 8 and the Astronauts Who Made Man's First Journey to the Moon.'
"And they’re not going to send it 100 miles away to Earth’s orbit, or 853 miles which was the world altitude record at the time, they’re going to send it 240,000 miles away," he said. "And they’re going with no redundancy. No lifeboat.”

They won't ever stop attacking President Trump. Here's why --
President Trump is deconstructing decades of economic manipulation and control over our lives by multinational banks and multinational corporations. There are trillions at stake. –SEE HERE– In essence Wall Street (multinationals and DC) is fighting Main Street (Trump). This is a battle of extreme consequence.
You see, it’s not President Trump who is the issue here; it’s the people who oppose him. Who opposes Trump? The people who write the laws .. the professional political team who do the bidding of the lobbyists and special interests: The UniParty.
President Trump represents a second party in Washington DC. The people who write the laws (lobbyists), and the people who sell the laws (politicians), cannot allow that. They need to get back to UniParty political business. They need to get rid of Trump.

"We're going to do whatever is necessary to build the border wall to stop this ongoing crisis of illegal immigration"
“This is a very fundamental issue. At stake is the question of whether or not the United States remains a sovereign country. Whether or not we can establish and enforce rules for entrance into our country.”
On FaceTheNation, White House senior adviser Stephen Miller says the Trump administration will do whatever is necessary to get the border wall, including a government shutdown in the coming days.
“He is not going to get the wall in any form,” the Senate minority leader, Chuck Schumer, said on NBC’s Meet the Press.
The Immigration Ultimatum
The year was 1986. President Reagan, a conservative Republican, with the acquiescence of Congress, granted amnesty to millions of foreign nationals illegally residing in the United States.
The slate was wiped clean, and from then on, we were told, the government would get serious about illegal immigration. The borders would be secured, immigration law enforced. It was a sham. Mass illegal immigration continued unabated. Just another slap in the face to American citizens.
The national nightmare is back. We are again told that amnesty is needed. We are lectured that "those living in the shadows" are the real problem, not the presence of millions of unknown lawbreakers. Citizens appear shell-shocked by the sheer magnitude of the problem permitted to fester.
Here are our options: we can a) continue in a lackluster mode, living with millions of unknown foreigners on our soil; b) grant another outrageous amnesty, which is virtually the same as option a (only that our leaders would feel virtuous, that they really did something); or c) change course, aggressively and unapologetically applying the spirit and letter of the law.

Donald Trump is 72 years old. Before we vote for him in 2020, he'll be 74. He is ready for the battle.
“Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired. When you were younger the mind could make you dance all night, and the body was never tired ... You've always got to make the mind take over and keep going.”

'There are no MAGA lobbying groups in Washington DC advocating for economic nationalism. President Trump stands alone'
The professional republicans and the professional democrats, ie. “The Uniparty”, have a common enemy in President Trump.
Within the UniParty dynamic, in order to retain full financial benefit, the political class need to align with Wall Street priorities. That alignment means the UniParty needs to eliminate Main Street priorities that are adverse to their interests.
Border controls and immigration enforcement are adverse interests to the UniParty. Additional cross party alignment to benefit Wall Street surrounds:
• budgets and massive government spending;
• government controlled healthcare retention;
• government controlled education (common core);
• and most importantly the removal of any national economic and trade policy that would threaten the structure of the multinationals.
It is not coincidental that US Chamber of Commerce President Tom Dohonue also outlined these issues as primary priorities for his massive lobbyist spending. There are trillions of dollars at stake.

No Evidence of Trump-Russia Collusion .. so they'll pivot to a new strategy
Re: Mueller’s Cohen and Manafort Filings:
(Excerpt)
Mueller’s Friday filings about former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen and former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort show that “there’s no evidence” of Russian collusion with President Donald Trump or his campaign officials, former U.S. Attorney Joseph diGenova said Friday night on Fox News
Byron York, the Washington Examiner’s chief political correspondent and a Fox News contributor, said on Friday night, “We should note that Mueller has not charged anybody” with “taking part in a criminal conspiracy to influence the 2016 election.”
Although Mueller’s latest filings show no evidence of Russian collusion, York warned that Democrats who are hoping to impeach Trump will “pivot” to a new strategy. York predicted that “a lot of Democrats will tell you that as of today, they now already have enough to go forward with” impeachment proceedings against Trump — based solely on potential campaign finance law violations, not Russian collusion.

Remember Pearl Harbor: They didn't ask to be the greatest generation .. but they were.
At 7:45 a.m., Dec. 7, 1941, the Japanese Imperial Navy attacked Pearl Harbor with more than 350 bombers and torpedo planes, launched from six aircraft carriers. They sank 12 ships and destroyed 188 aircraft — killing 2,402 American service members and wounding another 1282.
A day that changed lives forever
That day was more than just a horrible tragedy in American history. For many, it was a learning experience. Many service members were in their late teens and early 20s — boys, who were expected to react, understand and even lead like experienced men.
“I was just finishing morning chow when all of a sudden the planes flew about 200 feet over our heads,” said Samuel Clower, former first sergeant of Headquarters Company, 19th Infantry Regiment, 24th ID. “We could tell that they were Japanese planes, because of the rising sun emblem on them, but we had no idea why they were here.”
“Many began that day as boys, but quickly became men. It wasn’t a choice; it wasn’t an option. It was just one of the things we faced and dealt with. We were thrust into manhood, and we all grew up that day.”
The Aftermath
-2,402 killed aboard USS Arizona & at Pearl Harbor
-1,282 wounded aboard USS Arizona & at Pearl Harbor
-429 killed aboard USS Oklahoma
-33 killed at Schofield & Wheeler
-75 wounded at Schofield & Wheeler
-12 ships sunk
-188 aircraft destroyed
