Congress FAILED to repeal Obamacare .. so POTUS expands Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRAs)

"President Trump Just Revolutionized Health Care — And Nobody Noticed"

11 million Americans are about to get more freedom in their healthcare

There are two big ways Washington can affect healthcare for Americans. The first is by working to expand the range of affordable, high-quality options available in every community. The second is by purposefully eliminating these options in order to drive more people toward centralized, government-run healthcare schemes.

Here’s an example: Health Reimbursement Arrangements, or HRAs, allow workers to shop for a health insurance plan that’s right for them and their families. The previous administration imposed crushing fines and penalties on HRAs to prevent employees from selecting the plan of their choice. “It was impossible,” President Trump said

On Friday, President Trump announced that HRAs will now receive the same tax treatment as other employer-provided health plans. The move is crucial for America’s small businesses: It’s estimated that 90 percent of the businesses that will take advantage of HRAs have fewer than 20 employees.

“The Obama administration had made it illegal for our business to help employees with their health insurance costs,” Maryland small business owner Tom Kunkel said at the White House on Friday. “After the Obama ruling we had to stop all reimbursements . . . which caused a great bit of hardship for our employees.”

Now, his business and others can help defray healthcare costs for employees again.

The Trump Administration expects that 800,000 employers will offer these new HRAs to more than 11 million employees and family members once employers fully adjust to the rule. As a result, some 800,000 Americans who would otherwise be uninsured are projected to gain coverage.

4 Years Ago: An escalator ride into history

President Trump recalls Trump Tower campaign launch

“Our country is in serious trouble. We don’t have victories anymore,” Trump told the crowd, railing against China for “killing us on trade”

Four years ago on Sunday, Donald Trump descended through the pink marble and brass atrium of Trump Tower to announce his candidacy for president, the first step on a journey few believed would take him all the way to the White House.

Four years later Trump remembers it fondly.

“I never forget standing on the famous escalator, you know the escalator, right?” he likes to tell crowds. “Remember the scene with Melania in front of me waving very elegantly and Trump coming down, waving less elegantly? But I just took a deep breath and I said, ‘Let’s go do it. Let’s make this country great,’ because it takes guts. It takes guts. And I’m so glad I did it.”

And four years later, the speech Trump delivered, following an introduction from his eldest daughter, Ivanka, sounds just like one he would deliver today.

JUSTICE: Oberlin College loses BIG in the Gibson’s Bakery lawsuit.

My appearance on Tucker Carlson Tonight discussing the massive jury verdict: “These are the people who get up at 3 or 4 in the morning [to go to work] when Oberlin students are just getting home”

https://youtu.be/Jw51yY9_RR0 click image to watch

I appeared tonight on Tucker Carlson Tonight to talk about the massive jury verdict against Oberlin College in the Gibson’s Bakery lawsuit.

This was an unusually long segment, demonstrating the importance of the case to Tucker. He spoke for about 3 minutes then I got 3 minutes. In case you were wondering, 3 minutes for a guest in primetime on the most popular cable news network is a long time. I appreciate the opportunity.

[partial transcription]

Tucker: What do you think, having watched this from the first day to the last, what do you think the message the jury was sending was?

WAJ: They literally were just minding their business that day .. when they called the police on some shoplifters. And because of the crazed social justice, so-called social justice movement on our campuses, they were immediately designated an oppressor, in part because of their skin color, in part because they’re the owner of a business, and they were put into a pigeonhole of someone who must be racist, who must have engaged in racial profiling. And nobody seemed to actually care about the facts, that these are students actually did shoplift. And I think that’s what’s so outrageous about it.

I think you noted it in your opening, that these are just ordinary people. These are not people who are engaged in the political process. They didn’t put themselves  out into the arena. This is not like the other social media mobs we’ve heard about, where someone sends out a tweet, or post something on Facebook, and all of the sudden there’s a mob against them. That’s bad enough. These are literally people who got up probably at 3 in that morning, and did absolutely nothing wrong. But that campus fervor, and that campus zeal to express some sort of outrage at the system, visited them. And I think that’s the thing that’s so chilling here.

Follow The Money: Billionaires Exit Hong Kong as China Fist Looms

More indications of the growing financial exit to avoid the predictable response from totalitarian moves by Beijing.  [Backstory – Backstory]

Now we see reports growing of mass financial moves out of Hong Kong, as billionaires see the looming shadow of Red Dragon closing in…

.

HONG KONG (Reuters) – Some Hong Kong tycoons have started moving personal wealth offshore as concern deepens over a local government plan to allow extraditions of suspects to face trial in China for the first time, according to financial advisers, bankers and lawyers familiar with such transactions.

One tycoon, who considers himself potentially politically exposed, has started shifting more than $100 million from a local Citibank account to a Citibank account in Singapore, according to an adviser involved in the transactions.

“It’s started. We’re hearing others are doing it, too, but no-one is going to go on parade that they are leaving,” the adviser said. “The fear is that the bar is coming right down on Beijing’s ability to get your assets in Hong Kong. Singapore is the favoured destination.”

Democrat Plantation Los Angeles In Crisis .. and that's why President Trump should start going there.

"I think Trump ought to start going to California. I think he ought to go there once a month. I think the Republican National Committee ought to schedule a debate in California. I think the campaign should have ads showing and highlighting the homelessness in downtown Los Angeles and pointing out that this is what happens when Democrats run things with no opposition, no checks, no balances."

So there’s a downside to owning a state. And the downside is, the state has heap big problems, and the Democrats do not have to even care. The Democrats don’t dare go there. The Democrat presidential candidates don’t dare highlight problems in California. It can do nothing but hurt them.

UNION BOSS: L.A. Mayor’s ‘Green New Deal’ Is Pushing Members Toward GOP And Trump

July 11, 2019: Organized labor in Los Angeles recently launched an ad campaign blasting Democratic Mayor Eric Garcetti over his proposed "Green New Deal," claiming the environmental plan would cost union jobs, increase energy bills, and erode the middle-class.

Television and radio spots supported by a seven-figure ad buy began permeating Southern California airwaves earlier this month. A TV commercial broadcast during primetime viewing hours references an unfulfilled, six-year-old Garcetti vow to eliminate homelessness in L.A. if elected mayor.

Partial transcript as follows:

Remember when Eric Garcetti pledged to end homelessness in L.A.? A billion of our tax dollars spent and the crisis is worse than ever. Now he wants green taxes on L.A. drivers and utility rate hikes on local families. Let’s pump the brakes on Garcetti’s new taxes. The only thing green will be money coming out of our wallets.

The drive is sponsored by the Working Californians Research Fund, a nonprofit advocacy organization and front group for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 18.

U.S. Chamber of Commerce Threatens to Sue President Trump -- POTUS hits back

June 10, 2019: During a widely discussed CNBC interview President Trump landed two torpedoes directly below the waterline on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is a massive multinational DC lobbying group that four consecutive administrations’ have allowed to write the actual language in U.S. trade deals and trade negotiations. Bush, Clinton, Bush and Obama all gave the U.S. Chamber of Commerce the keys to the U.S. economy, and walked away. The U.S. middle-class was nearly destroyed in the process.

The collapse of U.S. manufacturing did not happen accidentally.  The rust-belt was not created accidentally.  NAFTA was not designed accidentally.  The back-door to the U.S. market was not created accidentally. Middle-class jobs were not lost accidentally.  Wages did not stagnate accidentally….  All of these results were brought about by specific design.

Who or what was in charge of the plan?

At the heart of trade agreements over the past 30 years you will find the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.  Yes, a Wall Street multinational corporate lobbying group actually wrote three decades of trade agreement language.

WINNING: 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals nullifies barrier to Keystone XL pipeline

Brought to you by the U.S. Department of #WINNING!

Via Legal Insurrection:

Back in March, President Donald Trump signed a presidential permit to initiate the construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline with a facility in Montana, the building of which has been delayed by a federal court order and an injunction.

Needless to say, the green justice warriors went forward with suits against the construction based on the old permitting. Now, in a decision that may shock many here, a 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel nullified a key barrier to the construction of the project, arguing that it no longer applies after the Trump administration replaced a permit earlier this year.

The court ruled in favor of the Trump administration and TransCanada Corporation’s motion to dismiss.

The ruling sided with arguments that the old permit for the pipeline, which was replaced by the Trump administration in March, is no longer valid and therefore the injunction associated with it also no longer applies.

The action hands a victory to the Trump administration, which has long fought to finish construction of the international pipeline.

Look Up: The United States will be “going to Mars very soon”

The President is following the hopes and dreams of Americans who lived through the breathtaking Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo missions, as he did – and want to see America lead in space exploration.  The obvious goals are the moon – and if possible, Mars.

No president has been more serious-minded about space, or more determined to fulfill promises made – and this president has made a few.  No president has been bolder, and in no sector more bold than in space.  First, the White House Space Council, then the Space Force, more recently a commitment to beat competitors in space marketing, pushing “Buy America” and then going back to the moon by 2024.

Now comes the zinger .. In Japan, the President went beyond elevated NASA and Space Force budgets, beyond the moon return promise and the DARPA (The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) Challenge. He put his eyes on Mars, creating an interplanetary bridge between idealism and realism, wishes and outcomes, promise and practice. More specifically, President Trump went beyond hoping American launch companies win in near-Earth and racing to deep space.

He expressly pledged, standing beside Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, that the United States will be “going to Mars very soon,” and asked international cooperation.  He said, “Japan will join our mission to send U.S. astronauts to space, and added that “nothing is more important now than space.”

Border Emergency: New Deal with Mexico will be the end of 'catch-and-release'

  • Those catch-and-release rules set by Congress and the courts allow the migrants to get work permits before their asylum court hearings, which are now backlogged for two or more years.

Instead of catch-and-release, the migrants can be returned to Mexico until their asylum claims can be heard by a judge.

  • Under current rules, roughly one million Central Americans will walk through the border loopholes created and preserved by courts and Congress, and into Americans’ workplaces, neighborhoods, and schools during the 12 months prior to October.
  • Politically, a good deal for Trump is a bad deal for Democrats, who have campaigned during the last few days to prevent a deal that would slow the inflow of migrants.

  • Ending catch-and-release is a huge win for Americans and Trump because it means border officials now have a legal alternative to the catch-and-release rules which allow migrants to legally enter the United States if they bring children and claim asylum.
  • The end of catch-and-release will likely wreck the cartels’ labor-trafficking business, which depends on migrants getting U.S. jobs to repay their smuggling debts. The reduction of migration will also help stabilize the Central Americans countries, which is needed before foreign investors build farms or factories in those nations.
Over the past 8 months, more than 500,000 Central Americans left the region. Guatemala saw largest absolute numbers but Honduras had the highest migration rate.

More Than Talk: Under new law, VA will pay for treatment from non-VA doctors

USA TODAY reports the new rules could increase the number of veterans eligible for private care paid for by the VA from 560,000 to 2.1 million. President Trump signed the MISSION Act into law one year ago.

Eligible U.S. veterans, starting Thursday, are being granted access to health care at facilities outside of the Department of Veterans Affairs -- paid for by the VA --  under the new Maintaining Internal Systems and Strengthening Integrated Outside Networks Act (MISSION Act). That includes access to urgent care.

According to the Federal Register, the MISSION Act says the VA will pay for covered veterans to have access to non-VA primary care, mental health care, or non-institutional extended care if the average driving time for the veteran to a VA health care provider is 30 minutes, or if the veteran has to wait at least 20 days to see a VA health care provider.

In the case of specialty care, the VA will pay for visits to a non-VA facility if the veteran is unable to schedule an appointment within 60 minutes average driving time or within 28 days of the request.

In addition, the VA says eligible veterans will be able to go to an urgent care provider that is part of the VA's contracted network of community providers without prior authorization from the VA.

"With urgent care, Veterans have a new option for care for the treatment of minor injuries and illnesses, such as colds, sore throats and minor skin infections. The benefit is offered in addition to the opportunity to receive care from a VA provider, as VA also offers same-day services," according to a VA blog.
