Ron DeSantis is America’s awesome ‘shadow president’
In the Westminster parliamentary system of government, used in Britain and elsewhere, the opposition forms a shadow cabinet: A group of senior opposition-party members takes responsibility for issues facing various government departments. So there might be a shadow defense minister, who focuses on military issues, and the group might put together a “shadow budget.”
None of these activities has any direct impact on the actual Cabinet; the shadow government has no executive power. But it does provide a contrast to the ruling government. It also cultivates people with some expertise, ready to take over the various offices when political power shifts.
America doesn’t use this system, but in a very real way we nonetheless have a shadow president in DeSantis.
Unlike a British shadow government, DeSantis has real executive power of his own — not in the federal government, but in his capacity as governor of America’s third most populous state. And he has been doing an excellent job of drawing contrasts between his way and the approach taken by the Biden-Harris administration.
Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) will no doubt try hard to take DeSantis down. But the more attention they focus on him, the more he will stand as a shadow president, showing Americans what someone else might do in Biden’s place.

Ron DeSantis and 25 other Republican governors send demand to Biden: "Take action to protect America"
26 state governors on Monday 9/20 demanded a meeting with President Biden about the southern border crisis. “A crisis that began at our southern border now extends beyond to every state and requires immediate action before the situation worsens,” the group wrote.
Haitian migrants use a dam to cross to and from the United States from Mexico, Friday, Sept. 17, 2021, in Del Rio, Texas. Thousands of Haitian migrants have assembled under and around a bridge in Del Rio. .
“While governors are doing what we can, our Constitution requires that the President must faithfully execute the immigration laws passed by Congress. Not only has the federal government created a crisis, it has left our states to deal with challenges that only the federal government has a duty to solve.” More
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas met privately with Border Patrol agents in Texas (link) and said in leaked audio that the border crisis is "unsustainable" and "we're going to lose" if "borders are the first line of defense."
"A couple of days ago I was down in Mexico, and I said look, you know, if, if our borders are the first line of defense, we're going to lose and this is unsustainable," Mayorkas said Thursday, according to the audio obtained by Fox News' Bill Melugin through a Border Patrol source.
"We can't continue like this, our people in the field cant continue and our system isn't built for it."

Political Retribution: Joe Biden moves to control Monoclonal Antibody (mAb) inventories.
On Monday, September 13, the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services transitioned from a direct ordering process (of mAb inventory) to a state/territory distribution system - LINK
As the administration of Joe Biden steps in to take control over Monoclonal Antibody (mAb) inventories and distribution, blocks red states from receiving the treatment, and makes grand pronouncements about controlling supply based on “equity”, the cowed White House press corps sits silently .. except for Newsmax reporter Emerald Robinson.
WATCH Jennifer Psaki lie, twist, obfuscate and manipulate the discussion in an attempt to defend an indefensible position when questioned by Robinson about Biden’s recent moves to punish Florida:
Keep in mind Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was initially blasted by progressives, the media writ large and the White House for his support of Monoclonal Antibody treatment. As soon as they noticed the approach was working, HHS moved to block the DeSantis mAb program by taking control of the inventory.
On Thurs. 9/16, Gov. DeSantis responds directly to the White House effort to kill Florida residents by withholding previously agreed shipments of Monoclonal Antibodies. WATCH
DeSantis outlined the issues Florida is facing after the Biden administration instructed the federal offices of HHS to punish the successful therapy and recovery efforts of the sunshine state healthcare system. He outlines the purchase agreement that Biden intentionally violated and also the issues created by the federal government now blocking direct purchasing of treatment from the manufacturer.
Additionally, the governor noted he has held meetings with ¹GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) to purchase mAb shipments directly from the second source manufacturer in order to work around the roadblocks being presented by the Biden administration. Gov. DeSantis reaffirmed his commitment to stand in the way, and not allow Joe Biden to kill Americans just because he doesn’t like their politics.

General Keith Kellogg:
“He’s basically taking Article Two of the Constitution under his own wing and did not do proper service to the President of the United States,” Gen. Kellogg said. Former Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller, who led the Pentagon from the period after the 2020 election through Inauguration Day, said that he “did not and would not ever authorize” Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley to have “secret” calls with his Chinese counterpart, describing the allegations as a “disgraceful and unprecedented act of insubordination,” and calling on him to resign “immediately.”
In a statement to Fox News, Miller said that the United States Armed Forces, from its inception, has “operated under the inviolable principle of civilian control of the military.”
“The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff is the highest-ranking military officer whose sole role is providing military-specific advice to the president, and by law is prohibited from exercising executive authority to command forces,” Miller said. “The chain of command runs from the President to the Secretary of Defense, not through the Chairman.” MORE

Cities, Counties That Require Employees to Get Vaxxed will Be Fined $5,000 Per Infraction
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on Monday fought back against Joe Biden’s unconstitutional vaccine mandates. DeSantis announced cities and counties that force employees to get vaccinated will be fined $5,000 per infraction.
“We are here today to make it very clear that we are going to stand for the men and women who are serving. We are going to protect Florida jobs,” DeSantis said during the news conference. “We are not gonna let people be fired because of a vaccine mandate.”
DeSantis also spoke about natural immunity and how it offers more protection against Covid variants, citing the study out of Israel. MORE

"It’s a sad day. It’s a very sad day for a lot of reasons, and we just added to that reason last week. It should never have happened. We’re going to have to live with that for a period of time."

The stirring response of Americans everywhere to the 9/11 terror attacks is a reminder of what the country used to be .. and can be again.
“In the tradition of all great American armies in battle, officers—47 lieutenants, 20 captains, and 21 chiefs—died alongside the rank and file, heroic death requiring no prerequisite of class or color. Indeed, the magnitude of the terrorist-inflicted disaster rivaled that of a fierce battle, where the enemy overruns and annihilates an entire military unit—paramedics, a fire marshal, even the fire department's chaplain were engulfed.”
Seen from today’s perspective, the months and years after 9/11 seem to belong more to an old America than a new one. The question is whether that America of heroic cops and patriotic songs, of ordinary Americans rolling up their sleeves, is gone forever or poised for a comeback.
Is the old America really still out there, waiting to come out of hiding? If so, then this 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks—evoking, as it will, memories of how New Yorkers and their countrymen responded—would be a good time to reemerge. MORE

Republicans would do well to abstain from misleading talk about “bipartisanship” and refer to the Democrats as what they really are: a totalitarian threat to our constitutional system.

Endorsement of Joe Kent
Joe Kent is a retired Green Beret and Gold Star husband running against RINO and incompetent Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler in the 3rd District of the State of Washington. Joe served his country proudly for many years and understands the tremendous cost of America's wars in the Middle East, and elsewhere. In Congress, Joe will be a warrior for the America First agenda, unlike Jaime Herrera Beutler who voted, despite the facts, against the Republican Party and for the Democrats' Impeachment Scam.

Joe Kent is strong on Crime and the Border, loves our Military and our Vets, and will protect our Second Amendment, which is under siege. I met Joe at Dover Air Force Base on the evening that his wife was being brought back from the Middle East, where she had been killed in combat. It was a very sad moment in Joe’s life, but I was incredibly impressed with him and told him that he should someday run for office—we need his voice and leadership in Washington, D.C. Now he is running, and Joe Kent has my Complete and Total Endorsement!

Endorsement of Sean Parnell
Sean Parnell is running for the United States Senate to serve the Great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Sean bravely fought for our Country as a Captain in the U.S. Army and was awarded two Bronze Stars (one for valor) and the Purple Heart. Unlike our current administration, he never left anyone behind.

Sean is a great candidate, who got robbed in his congressional run in the Crime of the Century—the 2020 Presidential Election Scam. He will make Pennsylvania very proud and will fight for Election Integrity, Strong Borders, our Second Amendment, Energy Jobs, and so much more. Sean Parnell will always put America First. He has my Complete and Total Endorsement!

"The miracle here is that the faster Florida grows, the redder it gets"
POLITICOreportsthat “Florida has gained nearly 3 million people since the last redistricting process a decade ago,” and that expansion has “set the stage for a remaking of its political lines headed into a 2022 election likely to determine control of the U.S. House.”
The paper’s Gary Fineout and Matt Dixon remind readers that redistricting “will be controlled by Republicans, who already hold 16 of the state’s 27 congressional districts.” Democrats worry that “the new maps will only further banish them in Florida’s political desert.”
Florida will gain a 28th seat in the next Congress, not to mention a 30th Electoral College vote in the 2024 presidential election. That nicely matches the losses suffered by New York State, and ironically enough, New Yorkers fled their own COVID lockdowns for Florida.
It isn’t due to redistricting dirty tricks in Florida, either, even though you can expect Dems to scream bloody murder about them anyway. Governor Ron DeSantis revealed this spring that an “overwhelming” number of new residents are registering R instead of D.
AsDeSantis told Sean Hannityat the time:
The lockdowns turned them into Republicans because they say ‘I cannot fathom,’ people say, ‘I was a Democrat because of education, and I’m in California and they’re locking my kids out of school. I come to Florida, they’re in school, people are free, people are happy.’ So I think this whole process has caused some people to reevaluate some of their prior commitments. (More)

The caning of Sen. Charles Sumner
(politics is not a pillow fight)
The sudden dip in Joe Biden’s poll numbers in the wake of his disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan + the utter abandon with which the Democrat Congress is throwing away trillions of dollars on infrastructure and relief programs (which are aimed at rewarding Democratic constituencies) would suggest that Biden’s party is headed for a fall. But other factors may be at play here:
As the emergency in Afghanistan is playing out .. Biden takes a knee.

August 24: Biden takes a knee - photo-op with WNBA Champions (LINK)
Later on Aug. 24: Joe Biden finally gave his big Afghanistan presser this afternoon. What then transpired was one of the most insulting, tone-deaf spectacles I’ve ever seen from a president.
He continues to act as if everything is going well, reciting his talking points. In fact, much of today’s speech was lifted from the speech he gave a week ago. He blamed Trump and he insisted that our allies were absolutely fine with everything occurring.
His eyes were bloodshot and glazed over. His presentation was cold. Upon finishing his teleprompter reading, he simply stumbled out, taking no questions, clearly unable to physically and mentally do so.
But what I took the most from this presser is this: Biden is sick. (LINK)

Ron Fires Back At AP
A series of tweets from the governor’s press secretary Christina Pushaw criticizing the story (Twitter then suspended her account) led the AP to send a letter to DeSantis’ office accusing her of a “direct effort to activate an online mob to attack” their reporter, as well as calling on him to “eliminate this attack strategy from your press office.”
“I assumed your letter was to notify me that you were issuing a retraction of the smear piece you published last week,” DeSantis began in his Monday letter responding to the AP. “Instead, you had the temerity to complain about the deserved blowback that your botched and discredited attempt to concoct a political narrative has received. This ploy will not work to divert attention from the fact that the Associated Press published a false narrative that will lead some to decline effective treatment for COVID infections.”
