Biden: CDC to require masks for school kids - DeSantis: We're not doing that in Florida

DeSantis at a news conference Thursday, July 22 - Indian River State College in Fort Pierce:

"There's been talk about potentially people advocating at the federal level imposing compulsory masks on kids. We're not doing that in Florida, okay?  We want kids to be able to be kids. We need them to be able to breathe. It's terribly uncomfortable for them to do it. There's not very much science behind it."

The governor said parents can equip their children to go back to school however they want, but stressed that there shouldn't be any mandate from the state or federal government to force face coverings. MORE

Sovereign State of Texas Builds Border Fence to 'Cut the Feds Out of the Equation'

MORE -  House GOP Unveils Bill To Give Funding To Border States That Want To Continue Building Wall

.
Sen. James Lankford@SenatorLankford  Jul 20
Biden is paying contractors $2 billion NOT to build the wall. In the meantime, CBP encountered a 20-year high of illegal migrants crossing our border & confiscated 508 pounds of fentanyl last month alone. Stop wasting tax dollars to watch the materials & just finish the wall.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has launched the construction of his state’s own fence along the southern border in an effort to slow the border crisis.

Asked what a chain link fence is going to stop? Texas [Department of Public Safety] says the idea is to cut the feds out of the equation. No trespass signs allow them to arrest on local charges. Instead of calling Border Patrol, they will take migrants to jail for violating Texas law. MORE

Ron DeSantis visits Texas border

Gov. DeSantis took aim at the ridiculousness of the Biden administration when it comes to their COVID policies:

"I got a little bit perturbed when I was at the southern border, when I started thinking about if you wanted to fly from Brazil or you wanted to do certain travel, the way you would be treated by the federal government under the auspices of COVID mitigation.

Some people wouldn’t even be allowed to come. A lot of these flights aren’t even allowed. If you wanted to go on a cruise ship, the federal government doesn’t want you except under extreme circumstances. So they’re very, very rigorous with lawful commercial activity in travel.

But if you just want to hopscotch across that border, they don’t care about COVID. They’re letting you straight in. They’re throwing you on a bus and they’re sending you all over the fruited plain in this country. So, I don’t understand how you square that.

If you’re saying that cruises have to go through all of these procedures because of COVID, wouldn’t you want people coming from a hundred different countries to just not be able to pour in the country effectively, with very little pushback?

So I think it’s a huge, huge problem and the idea that we would treat American citizens and their right to travel with more disfavor than we’re treating foreign nationals illegally entering our country – that didn’t sit well with me and I was really frustrated to see that." MORE

Republican Party - 153,822 Democrat Party - 132,714

How bad are things for the Democrats in the upcoming midterm elections? So bad that some of them are hiding their party ID in campaign ads.

Democrats running for elected office in the House and Senate from rural America are starting to depart from using party identification in their ads in hopes of attracting more voters.

This means many candidates for office are running against the platform of their own party, according to Axios. Since the 2020 election, the Democrats in both chambers of Congress have had a wafer-thin majority, and the Republicans are looking to overtake them in the fast-approaching midterms next year.

Democrat Rep. Tim Ryan (OH), running for one of Ohio’s Senate seats, released a campaign ad roughly three minutes long. The Democrat did not mention his party affiliation once. MORE

*NOTE: May 2017 was when Volusia County (founded 1854) saw Republican registered voters, for the first time ever, surpass the Democrats.

Now we need more volunteers out there helping us.

“Here in Florida we believe in lifting people up, not locking people down"

Gov. DeSantis traveled to Tampa on Sunday to deliver a speech at Turning Point USA’s Student Action Summit where he said sales for his “Don’t Fauci My Florida” merchandise are “through the roof.”

DeSantis began selling this branded merchandise in an effort to push back against Dr. Anthony Fauci, a move for which media elites criticized him.

“If a kid gets locked out of school for a year, that kid got Fauci’d. If someone is out of work for a year because of lockdowns, that worker got Fauci’d. If a family loses a business due to the lockdown, that family got Fauci’d. We’re not gonna allow that in the state of Florida.”

“This is a guy who thinks he has been right on everything, and he’s been wrong on so much,” DeSantis continued. “He deserves to be held accountable for the money that went to the Wuhan lab."

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, testifies during a Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions hearing to examine an update from Federal officials on efforts to combat COVID-19, Tuesday, May 11, 2021 on Capitol Hill in Washington. Biden White House identifying “problematic” posts for Facebook to censor ..

.. to ensure "correct narratives" are promoted.

. Donald Trump Jr. challenges the White House’s newest approach to work with social media on the crackdown of so-called 'disinformation'. Trump’s remarks came after the White House recently announced plans to work with Facebook to flag and censor social media posts.

"Question, under the White House’s new proposed social media ideals .. will all those who thought the Wuhan Lab Leak Theory was a very plausible explanation to the start of the pandemic get their accounts back .. and will those who chastised and censored them be thrown off all platforms?"

Facebook began reversing its censorship of the lab leak theory in early May after issuing suspensions for those pushing the theory. Critics slammed Facebook for keeping in lockstep with the government in deciding what is and isn’t “disinformation.”

*********

“We’ve increased disinformation research and tracking within the Surgeon General’s Office. We are flagging problematic posts for Facebook,” said White House press secretary Jen Psaki, confirming on Thursday that the world’s biggest speech platforms take direction from the government in choosing what content to suppress, amplify, or remove.

“Health misinformation has led people to resist wearing masks in high-risk settings. It’s led them to turn down proven treatments and to choose not to get vaccinated." said Surgeon General Vivek Murthy.

The demand for censorshipand Psaki’s admission of government involvement — follows a series of flip-flops from health officials who contradicted themselves throughout the pandemic .. issues such as mask efficacy, as well as censorship of claims that later gained credibility, such as the theory that COVID-19 leaked from a Chinese lab. Neither Psaki or Murty would answer a question about the fact that Dr. Anthony Fauci, the government’s top infectious diseases expert, did not promote mask-wearing in February, March, April 2020 .. but later pushed wearing two masks at a time.

On Friday afternoon, Joe Biden said Facebook was ‘killing people’ .. “They’re killing people. The only pandemic we have is among the unvaccinated. And they’re killing people."
