“What am I doing? I’m fighting the deep state,” Trump said in an exclusive interview with Full Measure with Sharyl Attkisson. “I’m fighting the swamp…If it keeps going the way it’s going, I have a chance to break the deep state. It’s a vicious group of people. It’s very bad for our country.”
In the wide-ranging interview with Full Measureset to air Sunday, Trump also addressed the debate over whether religious services should remain closed. Calling them “essential services,” he says it’s time for them to open.
Sharyl Attkisson: There are churches and religious leaders, New Jersey, Chicago, California who have said they’re going to defy if necessary, state orders and they’re going to open back up. Should they do that?
President Trump: I think they’re going to be in great shape. We’re coming out with CDC probably today. In fact, right after this particular magnificent interview that you’re doing… I’m going to be reading an order from CDC, but we’re going to be requesting that they open. I think they’re going to be calling it an essential service, and it is an essential service, and we want to get our churches back open…When you look at some of the things that they consider an essential service, but they don’t consider religious freedom essential service. Now the ministers, the pastors, the rabbis, the anybody you want to say, the religious leaders, all religious leaders, they want to keep the people safe too. But when you see that they’re arresting people and they’re in parking lots in cars with windows, spas and the people are being arrested, it’s a disgrace. Honestly, it’s a disgrace.”
Shortly after the interview Friday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued new guidelines on how religious institutions can safely reopen. Reopenings are still under the control of individual states.
Also addressed in the interview: the controversy over using the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine for coronavirus prevention or treatment. Trump says he just finished a two week course of of the drug for preventive purposes after two White House staffers were diagnosed with coronavirus. “I’m still here, to the best of my knowledge,” he says.
The president also talked about the strengths and weaknesses of his political opponent in the presidential race, Joe Biden, his own Twitter practices, the new Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe, and the scandal over FBI surveillance abuses.
“That was the insurance policy,” Trump tells Attkisson, speaking of the FBI’s targeting of the Trump campaign in 2016 and the transition team in early 2017. “[They thought ‘Clinton is] going to win but just in case she doesn’t, we have an insurance policy.’ And now I beat them on the insurance policy. And now they’re being exposed.”

If you are a “career official,” on the other hand, with no evidence of support for the President, then you are regarded as someone free of malice, a modestly paid civil servant toiling with only the nation’s best intentions at heart. In the press, “career official” is practically a synonym for “innocent,” even, or especially, if that career official is revealed to be part of the “Resistance.”

Pompeo Warns China against Interfering with U.S. Reporters in Hong Kong
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Sunday warned China against interfering with the work of American reporters in Hong Kong, following China’s expulsion of several U.S. reporters from the mainland.
“It has recently come to my attention that the Chinese government has threatened to interfere with the work of American journalists in Hong Kong.
These journalists are members of a free press, not propaganda cadres, and their valuable reporting informs Chinese citizens and the world,” Pompeo said in a statement. “Any decision impinging on Hong Kong’s autonomy and freedoms as guaranteed under the Sino-British Joint Declaration and the Basic Law would inevitably impact our assessment of One Country, Two Systems and the status of the territory.”

Even in that context, the prosecution of Flynn stands out as an extraordinary breach of law and public trust. Special counsel Robert Mueller charged Flynn with lying to agents despite fundamental flaws in the interview, especially in the deceptive approach. And documents released when Attorney General William Barr pulled the plug on the case show the FBI withheld exculpatory evidence from Flynn’s first lawyers.
As Barr noted, Flynn committed no crime and, additionally, no jury would ever have convicted him given the government’s repeated misconduct.

It’s now clear the Obama-Comey FBI and Justice Department never had anything more substantial (Link)than the laughable fiction of the Steele dossier to justify the “counterintelligence” investigation of the Trump campaign.
Why is former President Obama calling forth all his defensive resources now? Why did former national security advisor Susan Rice write her cya letter? Why have republicans in congress not been willing to investigate the true origins of political surveillance? What is the reason for so much anger, desperation and opposition from a variety of interests?
The good news is former President Obama is panicked by recent sunlight; the slight possibility of a U.S. DOJ that may soon have him in the cross-hairs; and the more obvious possibility the American people will discover the scale of his corrupt weaponization of intelligence to target his political opposition.

President Trump reacted to news Thursday that the Justice Department is dropping the case against former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, saying that the Obama administration’s efforts to build a case of Russian collusion against Trump are “unprecedented” and the people behind it are “human scum.”
In 2017, Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI. He was accused of lying about his contacts with then-Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak. However, the DOJ concluded on Thursday that his interview was "untethered to, and unjustified by, the FBI's counterintelligence investigation” and "conducted without any legitimate investigative basis."
Trump was told about the DOJ’s decision during an Oval Office meeting with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott. “I didn't know that was happening at this moment. I felt it was going to happen just by watching and seeing like everybody else does. He was an innocent man, he is a great gentleman. He was targeted by the Obama administration, and he was targeted in order to try and take down a president, and what they have done is a disgrace, and I hope a big price will be paid,” the president said.
“There’s never been anything like this in the history of our country. What they did, what the Obama administration did is unprecedented. It's never happened, never happened, a thing like this has never happened before in the history of our country, and I hope a lot of people are going to pay a big price, because they are dishonest, crooked people. They are scum. They’re human scum, and I say it a lot. They are human scum."
The president accused the Obama Justice Department of treason.“The Obama administration Justice Department was a disgrace, and they got caught. They got caught, very dishonest people, but much more than that, it's treason."
Rep. Michael Waltz (R-FL) stated that China’s rise is the biggest “existential threat to the United States, to liberty around the world, to a free world order that we’ve ever faced.” And said facing them will be like facing the Soviet Union in the 20th century.
Waltz said, “This is a national security issue, and in fact, I think this will be the national security issue, much like how we had to face the Soviet Union for most of the 20th century. This will be the case for the 21st century. … This is about dealing with what I think is the most existential threat to the United States, to liberty around the world, to a free world order that we’ve ever faced.”
“Whatever the origins of this virus — and, right now, I think the best circumstantial evidence points to those labs in Wuhan,” Cotton said. “But whatever the origins of it, it’s clear to me that, once China realized how deadly this virus could be to some people and how contagious this virus was, that they made the conscious decision to let it get outside of their borders. They didn’t stop international air travel. They pressured countries not to impose travel restrictions.
They pressured the WHO to oppose travel restrictions as well, even when they knew, as far back as early December, that this virus was highly contagious and very deadly,” he continued. “So, whatever the origins of this virus may ultimately be, even if it was an accident or a mistake, the Chinese Communist Party is culpable for turning what could have been a local public health challenge in Wuhan into the worst global pandemic in a century.”
China covered up the outbreak in Wuhan. Its national health commission ordered virus samples destroyed on January 3. China 'disappeared' brave Chinese citizens who raised alarms and deployed its propaganda organs to denounce those who politely called for simple transparency.
And that brings us to today -- 120 days on. China is still refusing the share the information we need to keep people safe, such as viral isolates, clinical specimens, ad details about the many COVID 19 patients in Dec. 2019, not to mention patient zero.
In 2018, China declared war on the United States. Few Americans are aware of this, and most who are don’t take it seriously. Donald Trump does—and Beijing knows it.
Removing any doubts about how the Trump administration sees things, Peter Navarro, White House trade advisor, said in an interview on Fox News, “This is a war . . . a war that China started by spawning this virus.”
Left diplomatically vague is what kind of war Navarro means. Everyone had to see this coming. The Chinese government certainly did. They’ve been preparing for it.
If Donald Trump were not the president, and 2020 not a presidential election year, it would be hard to imagine anything else causing the kind of mass hysteria that surrounds COVID-19. For Democrats, this is what it’s come to: A last attempt to drive down support for Trump by doing everything they can to heighten public fear of the coronavirus and extend for as long as possible the resulting economic disruption.
China would like nothing better. In October 2018, Chinese President Xi Jinping declared a 30-year war on the United States. When the war is over in 2049, the 100th anniversary of Communist Party rule, China expects to be victorious economically, politically and, if necessary, militarily.

DAYTONA BEACH — Halifax Health Medical Center and other hospitals statewide will today be allowed to perform elective procedures after a six-week hiatus ordered by Gov. Ron DeSantis, who lifted that with a new order last week.
DeSantis appeared Sunday at a news conference at Halifax Health with hospital officials, who talked about their strategies for keeping the reins on coronavirus as it emerged across the United States. He pointed to CDC recommendations for halting the surgeries in the first place.
“Part of the reason they wanted to do that was to make sure there was enough hospital space, which just from the data I thought that we would have that, but then they were also concerned about a lack of (personal protective equipment) and at that time there was real concern so we ended updoing it.”
DeSantis said his order was necessary to prevent hospitals from being overwhelmed in the event of a worse coronavirus outbreak.
“That obviously hassucceeded. We have not seen that in Florida, but because all these other things were not happening, a lot of hospitals had to furlough workers,“ he said. ”And so some of the capacity was diminished on the back end. This will allow the system to start running again like it should and obviously it will be good for people's health.“
