Millions of Americans losing their jobs wasn't enough to persuade House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to increase funding for the SBA's Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), so Sen. Marco Rubio is hoping ice cream will do the trick. 

The speaker, whose job was unaffected by the coronavirus, appeared virtually on a late-night television show to flaunt her mansion and personal stockpile of gourmet ice cream. "I like it better than anything else," the speaker mused, in the middle of a viral outbreak that has killed tens of thousands of Americans and left millions unemployed. 

Knowing the speaker is spending her days eating ice cream in the comfort of her mansion, Sen. Marco Rubio offered up his own personal cache of ice cream -- albeit, far smaller than Pelosi's -- if the speaker moves immediately to refund the PPP. 

Rubio's offer won't work. The Florida senator has only one bag of M&M Ice Cream and it looks freezer burned. Pelosi's gourmet ice cream, on the other hand, is reportedly $13 a pint and kept in one of Pelosi's two industrial-sized refrigerators that cost $24,000 a pop. Thank you, taxpayers.

If the technocrats and Democrats want to play games with numbers and claim those who died of underlying health issues who had the virus died of the virus, then I too want a statistic of those who died from government house arrest who had heart attacks, strokes, overdoses or suicide.

We have allowed government at all levels to use the now provably and wildly inaccurate prognostications of the technocrats to put virtually the entire nation under house arrest under the guise of halting the spread of something that, although nasty and lethal to be sure, is nowhere near the extinction-level plague that the media is pimping it as.

More and more people now are aware of the fact that the Democrat-Media Complex's will to power is proving deadlier than any disease ever could.

“CNN this week published a report copying almost word-for-word a Chinese Communist Party press release praising the People’s Liberation Army Navy’s efforts to contain the coronavirus and degrading the U.S. Navy’s failures to do likewise.”  CNN is reciting propaganda from the Chinese government nearly verbatim. “Travesty” is not a nice word.

It usually is applied to gross perversions of justice, and that apparently is the context Attorney General William Barr desired when he dropped it into an interview answer the other day in the breezy courtyard of the Department of Justice. His composed, understated delivery almost disguised the weighty magnitude of that disturbing word and the loaded adjective that preceded it.

“I think what happened to him,” he said, referring to the president and the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation into his campaign, “was one of the greatest travesties in American history.”  

Okay, it’s important to pause for a moment and absorb what the AG said. He just called an FBI investigation not just a travesty but one of the “greatest” travesties in the nation’s history. It was an unprecedented statement by an attorney general about his own department’s premier agency.  

The FBI has made plenty of mistakes, but never in its 112-year history has an FBI investigation been characterized as a travesty, let alone one that equates to other hall-of-fame travesties in American history.

Is the AG’s assessment fair? The answer is entwined in his next statement:

“Without any basis [the FBI] started this investigation into [Donald Trump’s] campaign ... .”

Oops, stop again right there. Mr. Barr is making a definitive statement about that which many of us have speculated all along, namely that the weirdly unprecedented investigative team put together by former FBI Director James Comey and Deputy Director Andrew McCabe did not have adequate legal reasons to open a case into the Trump campaign in the first place. The attorney general just confirmed that.
