RE: Election of new Chairman for the Republican Executive Committee of Volusia County

“An election will be held on March 12, 2019 for Chairman of the Republican Executive Committee of Volusia County,” stated Marilyn Ford, acting Chair for the local Party Organization. “The Party Notice for the election was sent to members 2-17-19.”

“The election comes after the passing of Chairman Tony Ledbetter on February 13, 2019, which leaves a vacancy for that position,” Ford continued, “we have a Party Constitution and State Party Rules we must follow for the election.”

“The members will vote at the next regular meeting of the RECVC and as per Party rules, the new leader will be elected from members within the Organization by a simple majority vote and take office immediately.”

“While we are still grieving for our loss of our leader and friend, he would want us to move forward quickly to continue the work of our Republican Party in Volusia County,” Ford added. “We honor him with a speedy and stable transition to a new Chairman.”
