Jim Waurishuk is a retired USAF Colonel, serving a 30-year career as a senior strategic intelligence and special mission intelligence officer, and political-military affairs officer with expertise in strategic intelligence, international strategic studies, policy, and asymmetric warfare. Served combat and combat-support tours in Grenada, Panama, Afghanistan, and Iraq -- as well as on numerous strategic and special operations special missions, intelligence missions, activities, and operational contingencies in Central America and the Caribbean, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa.

He is a former member of the White House National Security Council (NSC) and Situation Room staff, and Senior Intelligence Aide to the National Security Advisor.

He is a graduate of both the U.S. Air Force and the Armed Forces Staff Colleges, a War College graduate, and a Distinguished Senior Fellow with the Atlantic Council, Washington, D.C.

Upon retirement, has served as a senior strategic advisor to the JCS-Joint Staff and the Commander of U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), Tier 1 forces.

Jim serves as Vice President of the Special Ops-OPSEC Foundation, and currently as a freelance adviser and consultant providing strategic and operational security analysis on national security, international strategic policy, and strategy, and is a national security columnist for multiple publications.

He has spoken on behalf of both the Trump Campaign and President Trump as a keynote speaker -- introducing Donald Trump to America and the world “as a National Security President,” on February 12, 2016 at the USF Sun Dome in Tampa, FL, and served as Emcee for President Trump’s rally in Tampa, on July 31, 2018.

Currently, he is Chairman, Hillsborough County Republican Party, is a member of the Republican Party of Florida’s Executive Board, is Chairman of the Congressional District 14 Caucus in Hillsborough County, Florida, and as a Trump surrogate for the 2020 Trump Campaign.
